Eddy County Commissioner Roxanne Lara, a 2007 graduate of Emerge New Mexico’s training program was honored recently as one of nine Democratic women “Trailblazers” in national politics. Emerge America honored Commissioner Lara as one of a group of women elected to public office from Maine to California. These critical victories were celebrated and the officeholders recognized at the organization’s first annual luncheon in San Francisco.
“Roxanne, a graduate of the 2007 Emerge Class, is a shining example to women of all ages who are interested in pursuing elected office,” said Reena Szczepanski, Executive Director of Emerge New Mexico, “She has been fearless in pursuing her dreams and committed to making a difference.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
