Artesia youth Lawrence Perez received a Braille Sense computer and college tuition funds through the efforts of the New Mexico Hispano Entertainers Association and the New Mexico Blind Commission. The NMHEA hosted a benefit concert Saturday at the Artesia High School Auditorium featuring Mariachi artist Antonio Reyna and special guests Mariachi Raices de America and Ballet En Fuego de Frances Lujan. The NMHEA donated proceeds from the concert to Perez for college tuition, and the NMBC donated the Braille Sense, a computer created specifically for the blind.
