Law enforcement agencies from around the state have been arming themselves with knowledge to combat gang-related crime and graffiti throughout the week in Artesia.
The town has played host – for the third straight year – to an anti-gang and anti-graffiti conference organized by the Policing Unit of the Artesia Police Department.
Experts from around the country were brought to Artesia to provide information regarding gangs and graffiti. It is the only conference of its kind in New Mexico and agencies from around the state attend the seminar for training.
“It’s worth it for agencies to come to,” said APD Sergeant Lindell Smith. “It’s not just a focus on what is happening right here, but throughout law enforcement.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
