The city council met Tuesday and approved the changes to Woodbine Cemetery’s newly revised rules and regulations.
The amendments were proposed to the council by the cemetery board in response to complaints about the enforcement of rules and regulations that were more than 20 years old.
Initially, the city chose to begin enforcing Woodbine’s rules after receiving several complaints about the appearance of the cemetery. The rule regarding personal decorations, which prohibited the placement of toys, crockery, shells, boxes, glassware and cans and other objects at gravesites, was not well received by family members of those buried at the cemetery. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
