Danny Scott has been named as the new publisher of the Artesia Daily Press, according to Walt Green, owner.
Scott began his career at the Daily Press in 1970 as a newspaper carrier. He moved into the circulation manager position in 1976 and has been with the company ever since.
“Danny has set an example for other employees to follow for many years,” said Green. “He is a hard worker and has been involved in every facet of this business for a long time.”
Most people in larger publishing organizations are only involved in the advertising, editorial, or production aspects of the business, said Green. Scott has been around long enough to have experience in dealing with each department, he said.
“It’s going to be exciting and it’s going to be fun,” Scott said. “We have a good staff here.”
Scott lives with Ginger, his wife of 31 years. His son Christoper, 30, lives in Nogal, and his daughter, Anessa, 28, lives in Artesia. He has three grandchildren, Caden, 5, Crayton, 2, and Mason, 2.
