Russell York, a 21-year-old college student nearing the end of a 3,500-mile cross country bike ride for charity, made a rest stop in Artesia today just before noon.
York made his way down Main Street before retiring for the day. A student at Patrick Henry College in West Virginia, York accepted a challenge from his friend to make the arduous trek via bike back to his hometown of San Diego.
York’s friend works for Young Life, a non-denominational Christian ministry that reaches out to adolescents worldwide. York started his journey 31 days ago.
