A traffic light at the intersection of 13th and Main streets hangs by a couple of wires after being struck by a passing semitruck pulling a trailer carrying a disassembled pump jack Monday. Artesia Police Department officers directed traffic through the intersection until the damaged light could be put back in place. Robert York, 52, of Hobbs was issued a citation for immediate notice of accident. According to the incident report, York was hauling a large load, approximately 20 feet above the ground, and did not realize he caused the damage.
