Artesia residents are encouraged to give support to the Rio Grande Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association by donating money for the MDA Lock-Up where certain local business and community leaders of Artesia are nominated to participate.

A “deputy” will “arrest” a volunteer before the scheduled time and transport them to the MDA’s “Maximum-Appreciation Facility.”

The Artesia Lock-Up will be at The Wellhead Restaurant and Pub at noon Thursday. The volunteer will ask family, friends, and coworkers for bail money immediately after signing up.

They can create their own webpage, or photocopy a “WANTED” letter to family and friends in order to raise sufficient funds. On the day of the event, the volunteers bring their “Bail Log” (a record of how much money they raised) with them to the “Lock-Up,” along with the cash/checks and credit card contributions. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
