Artesia Head Start Room Five children recognized Earth Day today by planting their own flower garden on the school playground. With the help of Artesia Clean and Beautiful and volunteer parents, children spent the day learning about ways to improve their environment. “For over 40 years, Earth Day has inspired and mobilized individuals and organizations worldwide to demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection and sustainability,” Regina Bejarano, of Head Start, said. “Many projects and ideas will be shared with Head Start families to help make a difference in the Artesia community.” (Ashley Trujillo – Daily Press)
