A city worker tears up the east driveway at Artesia Fire Department today. The project is in its third day and AFD Chief J.D. Hummingbird said it is expected to take anywhere from four to six more days before concrete is poured and the endeavor completed. Hummingbird said the project was undertaken because the 30-year-old concrete showed substantial cracking. He gave credit to City Director of Infrastructure Robert Forrest for quickly addressing the problem. When the east drive is completed the west drive will be torn up and repoured as well.
