Aiden, 3, and Bryson, 2, are ready to hit the road safely this holiday season in their newly installed car seats, fitted Saturday morning by the New Mexico Department of Transportation and Safer New Mexico Now. The groups hosted a Child Safety Seat Fitting Station at Artesia Fire Station No. 2 in honor of Cy Palmer, who lost his life last year in a tragic vehicle accident. The clinic had serviced eight vehicles just before noon Saturday in an attempt to keep more Artesia children safe in the event of a wreck. According to local certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician Tao Chumbley, the fitting station checked 16 seats total at the event.
