Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Kermit, Texas, for Peggy Louise Hefner.
Hefner, 74, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, in Lubbock, Texas.
Lonnie Cleveland will officiate the services, with interment to follow at the Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Martz, Brandon Hass, Junior Banuelos, Yancy Dempsey, Matt Hendrick and Casey Thames. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Chance, Mike Chance, Larry Antley, Larry Punneo, Johnny LaLonde and Richard Mitchell.
Peggy was born May 14, 1944, in Roswell to Tommy and Dreta (Williams) Bledsoe.
On Oct. 19, 1963, she married Billy Hefner in Hagerman, and the couple celebrated 55 years together.
Peggy was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was also a member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 4-H leader for 22 years.
Peggy enjoyed playing dominos and listening to gospel music and George Strait, but the biggest joy of her life was taking care of her family.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Hefner, of Kermit; sons J.J. Hefner and wife Stacy, and Bill Mike Hefner, both of Kermit; daughter Charlotte Araujo and husband Eddie of Artesia; brothers Don Bledsoe of Arlington, Texas, and Tommy Bledsoe and Ross Bledsoe, both of Artesia; grandchildren Danielle Banuelos, Ashly Haas, Chris Martz, Katie Hefner, Kenna Hefner, Jaycie Thames, Gracie Hefner, Chandra Adkins and Buffy Dempsey; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Dreta Bledsoe; sisters Wanda Lee, Caroline Sue and Dorothy Ford; and brother Raymond Bledsoe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Grace Temple Baptist Church, 220 S. Olive, Kermit, TX, 79745.
