The Artesia High School band surrounds Lowell and Norberta Irby Friday morning outside Lowell’s Pharmacy on the Artesia General Hospital campus. The band made a special trip to Lowell’s Friday morning to help the longtime local pharmacist and Artesia Public Schools Board of Education president celebrate 60 years of filling Artesians’ prescription needs. Lowell’s Pharmacy’s official anniversary date was Saturday. The band offered up a short selection of songs, including “Onward, Bulldogs” and the appropriate “A Spoonful of Sugar.”
