Unlike many trees in Artesia, which fell victim to the recent freeze and sent their leaves fluttering through the streets, trees in the downtown district survived and are sporting vibrant autumn reds, oranges and yellows, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Along with the Christmas lights wrapped around their trunks, they’ll also make a festive display for the upcoming Light Up Artesia event Nov. 29.
