Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Inocente Segovia Alvarado of Artesia.
Alvarado, 104, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at his home.
Fr. Vijay will officiate the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Margarito Alvarado, Joel Hernandez, William Hernandez, Fabian Casares, Dominic Marquez and Julian Alvarado.
Visitation will be held until 8 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Inocente was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Barstow, Texas, to Amando and Maria (Segovia) Alvarado.
On Oct. 20, 1945, he married Albina Salazar in Ojinaga, Mexico, and the couple came to Artesia in 1962 from Loving.
Inocente was a farm laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and yardwork.
Survivors include son Margarito Alvarado of Artesia; daughters Maria Alvarado and Ramona Galindo, both of Artesia; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Albina Alvarado, in 1989; his parents; son Inocente Alvarado; daughter Aida Hernandez; six brothers; and three sisters.
