ARTESIA MAGISTRATE COURT

Judge Daniel Reyes Jr.

Michael B. Olivas, 37, of Artesia, found guilty of larceny. Sentenced to 90 days in the Eddy County Detention Center. Total fines and fees $173.

Joleen Wakeland, 32, of Artesia, bound over to district court on charges of abuse of a child, DWI, and failure to maintain traffic lanes.

Ryan Philip Tafelski, 41, of Carlsbad, found guilty of aggravated DWI. Sentenced to four days in the Eddy County Detention Center. Total fines and fees $541. Charges of no proof of insurance were dismissed.

Joseph Hernandez, 25, of Roswell, found guilty of shoplifting and criminal trespassing. Sentenced to 90 days of supervised probation. Total fines and fees $326.

Sarah C. Lara, 37, of Artesia, bound over to district court on charges of harboring or aiding a felon.

Jeremy Torres, 25, of Artesia, scheduled to appear Nov. 28 for preliminary examination on charges of battery upon a police officer, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charges of unlawful use of a license dismissed against John C. Chavez, 41, of Artesia.

Herald N. Caraveo, 30 of Artesia, found guilty of possession of marijuana. Sentenced to 15 days in the Eddy County Detention Center. Total fines and fees $198. Charges of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and battery were dismissed.

Jeremy Baker, 25, of Roswell, scheduled to appear Nov. 28 for preliminary examination on charges of shoplifting and conspiracy.

Marcos Guajardo, 21, of Artesia, scheduled to appear Dec. 12 for sentencing on charges of probation violation and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.
