The Artesia City Council will hold two public hearings during its regularly-scheduled meeting Tuesday.

The first public hearing will concern consideration and approval of an amendment to Section 12-2-2 of the Artesia City Cody regarding penalty assessment. The second hearing will consider a final plat in the Joy Subdivision, county property located within the three-mile platting jurisdiction of the City of Artesia.

The council will consider the dividing of Tract A into Tracts 1-4, located on the north side of the 2000-2500 blocks of West Fairgrounds Road (owners: Richard and Patricia Joy; agent: Harcrow Surveying, LLC).

Following departmental updates, the council will hear from city clerk Aubrey Hobson on a resolution approving the 2018-19 budget adjustments; a resolution confirming the continuation of municipal elections being conducted on municipal officer election day in March of even-numbered years; and a resolution correcting errors on Utility Lien Resolution 1676.

Mayor Raye Miller will also discuss the ratification of a letter commenting on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s Draft Resource Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement for the Carlsbad Field Office.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at City Hall.
