Dorian Cortese, fifth from right, of the Artesia FFA displays his buckle behind his Grand Champion Market Swine after taking top honors at the Eastern New Mexico State Fair in Roswell. Cortese’s show pigs topped the field in the Cross, Yorkshire and Hampshire divisions, with his Cross swine winning Grand. Cortese is a sophomore at Artesia High School and has been showing pigs since age 9. He is the son of Wes and Shara Ivans. The pig competition was judged by Miles Toenyes, standing at right of Cortese, of Highland, Ill.
