Female military veterans and transitioning active-duty personnel are invited to stop by a special New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) women veterans’ outreach visit to Carlsbad from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4.

The outreach visit will be held in the Carlsbad City Hall Conference Room, Room 204, 101 N. Halagueno St. DVS Women Veterans Program Manager Amanda Somerville will be available to answer questions about and help women veterans with filing for the many VA and state veterans’ benefits — including several VA benefits exclusively for women veterans.

No appointments are necessary. Women veterans are encouraged to bring their DD-214 separation papers to help facilitate any immediate assistance with benefits claims. Women can also apply for damaged, lost or stolen DD-214’s.

For more information, contact Somerville at [email protected] or 505-383-2431.
