Javier Montoya

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for Javier Montoya.

Montoya, 54, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.

Interment will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan Ramon Valenzuela, Abel Montoya, Danny Montoya, Gabriel Montoya, Gonzalo Montoya III, Tootie McNeil and Jermey Montoya.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at the church.

Javier was born Jan. 6, 1964, in Artesia.

Always having a smile on his face, he was always helping in any way that he could. He enjoyed being with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter Crysta Montoya; siblings Mary Pasillas, Rosa McNeil, Gonzalo “Junior” Montoya and wife Diana, Abel Montoya, Juanita Aguilar, Danny Montoya, Gabriel Montoya and wife Ashley, and Tio Santos Valenzuela; and grandchildren Aliza, Alijah, Malaysia and Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gonzalo Zalazar Montoya Sr. and Patricia Valenzuela Montoya; siblings Lupe Baeza, Natilia Montoya and Gloria Montoya; and grandparents Ignacio Montoya, Teodora Salazar Montoya, German Valenzuela and Juana Grado Valenzuela.
