Francene Bonds

Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 18, for Stella Francene (Pruitt) Bonds, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Her services were officiated by the Rev. Paul Whitely of Meridian, Texas, and interment took place at Oden Chapel Cemetery near Glen Rose, Texas.

Francene was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Idalou, Texas, to Noble Alexander and Vivian Estelle (Perkins) Pruitt. She always enjoyed reminiscing about the very happy childhood she had growing up on a depression-era farm in Bosque County, Texas, with her parents and older sister, Betty.

On Feb. 12, 1950, she married Marine Corps veteran of World War II Milton Clark Bonds in Portales.

She was the loving and caring mother of her three surviving children, Randy Bonds, Gary Bonds and Elaine Adamson and husband Dwight, all of Artesia. Francene dedicated herself completely to the wellbeing and support of her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and reading lots of books from her tablet.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her three children; grandchildren Nicholas Willmann and wife Deanna of Diboll, Texas, and Natalie Brooks and husband Charlie of Clifton, Texas; great-grandchildren Chase Brooks, Emily Willmann, Brooklyn Willmann and Stella Brooks; nephew Jimmy Davis and wife Deana of Brownwood, Texas; and several great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Milton; daughter Betty Katherine Willmann; an infant son, Larry Wayne; and sister Betty Davis.

Her memory will be treasured forever by all those who knew and loved her so much.
