Above, Roger Creager entertains the crowd Saturday evening at the Artesia Arts and Cultural District’s annual Red Dirt Black Gold Festival in downtown Artesia. The event featured a market, shopping with downtown merchants, kids’ activities, the Oilfield Olympics and Oilfield Cook-Off, and free music. Below, the Red Dirt Black Gold Festival was briefly interrupted by a brief but heavy rainshower in the downtown Artesia area.
