A Roswell man wanted in connection with a shooting has been apprehended.
Victor Clay Richardson Jr., 22, of Roswell, was wanted in connection with the shooting of a 54-year-old man who had confronted Richardson about money allegedly owed him by the suspect and/or his girlfriend.
The incident occurred Aug. 6 outside a residence in the 1700 block of North Michigan Avenue in Roswell. The victim was wounded in the shoulder.
Through information obtained during investigation, Roswell Police Department officers were able to locate Richardson around 2 p.m. Wednesday at a motel in the 3000 block of North Main Street. When police arrived, eight individuals exited the room in question, some of whom informed police Richardson was hiding in an attic space in the room.
Richardson did not exit upon command, and SWAT was called in, eventually making verbal contact with the suspect, who exited the attic without incident.
He was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.
