Crime Stoppers of Eddy County is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a hit-and-run accident that occurred in late June in Artesia. Artesia Police Department officers received reports of a wreck involving a bicyclist at 4:21 a.m. June 22 at U.S. 285 and Mill Road. The cyclist was travelling south along the edge of U.S. 285, just north of the Mill Road intersection, when they were struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The cyclist was later found by a passerby and airlifted to a trauma center with serious injuries. Through investigation, officers determined the vehicle involved was a 2000-2005 Dodge Neon.
