The Roswell Police Department is actively seeking a man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred Monday in the community.

RPD officers were dispatched Monday evening to a home in the 1700 block of North Michigan Avenue. They located the victim approximately one block from the scene; that individual was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, identified as Victor Richardson, 22, was believed to still be in the home, but after SWAT was called to the scene, Richardson was not located. A warrant for his arrest has been issued on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.

Anyone with potential information as to Richardson’s whereabouts is asked to call the RPD at 624-6770 or, anonymously, Chaves County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-594-TIPS (8477).
