Joe Smith

Joe C. Smith, PGA, passed from this life Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Joe turned golf pro in 1982 and became a Class A member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA) in 1986. He was head golf professional of Lorenzo Country Club from 1982-94 and Artesia Country Club from 1994-2012. He was Merchandiser of the Year in 2001.

Joe was a lifetime member of the PGA.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Smiley; son David Smith and wife Matina of Joshua, Texas; daughter Amy Tullis and husband David of Ralls, Texas; sister Mary Morris and husband Larry of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

I wish to thank all our friends in Artesia and surrounding areas, and members of Artesia Country Club, who supported and cared for us through the years. Those were all good memories!
