Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for longtime Artesia resident Jimell Harvey.

Harvey, 83, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, in Austin, Texas, and was immediately received by her father, God.

Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Terpening & Son Mortuary. Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home, 611 W. Grand Ave.

Jimell was born April 20, 1935, in Benjamin, Texas, to Eddie Kelly and Hulene Nary. She lived in Artesia for more than 70 years and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Roosevelt Harvey; daughters Wilma Jackson of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Linda Harvey of Albuquerque; sons Donald Lee Hutson of Artesia and Willie Howard Hutson and wife Marcela of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law Margaret Gray of Midland, Texas; daughter-in-law Senaida Lopez-Hutson of Artesia; special cousins Willis Nary and wife Alma Ray of Midland, and Ronnie Vaughn of Roswell; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her only brother, Charles Gray; and her eldest son, Johnny P. Hutson.
