Artesia Police Department officers and Artesia Fire Department emergency personnel respond as a SUV sits in the median housing the The Foundation bronze statue in the roundabout at Second Street and Quay Avenue after wrecking Friday afternoon. According to the APD, the elderly driver experienced a medical incident either just before or during the wreck. That driver was transported by EMS to Artesia General Hospital and is reported to have recovered. There was no words as to whether any damage was sustained by the statue.
