N.M. PRODIGY brought home first-place honors – and gold rings for each team member – following the June 1-3 USSSA Queen of the Mountain Softball Tournament in Ruidoso. PRODIGY defeated the Roswell Lady Storms 17-0 and tied 16-16 with N.M. Freedom-Reyes of Carlsbad during pool play Friday. Following an 18-0 win over the Roswell Flying Lizards in bracket play Saturday, PRODIGY met up again with Freedom-Reyes, this time topping them 16-2. Another victory over Arsenal of Andrews, Texas – 16-8 – allowed PRODIGY to advance undefeated to Sunday’s championship. There, they squared off again against Arsenal, besting them by a similar score of 16-6.
