The Governing Board of Artesia General Hospital has named Richard Gibson as the hospital’s interim CEO.
Gibson joined the hospital nearly seven years ago in July 2011. Since then, he has served in a number of capacities, including executive director of physician practices, and has been instrumental in the recruitment of additional providers.
“The board members and I are confident that Rich will ensure that our hospital moves forward with the quality healthcare and initiatives that are already underway throughout the organization,” said Dennis Maupin, president of the Artesia Special Hospital District Board of Trustees and member of the Governing Board. “Rich is a seasoned executive who has played an integral role in the growth of our hospital. His deep knowledge of our hospital, markets and physicians make him an ideal candidate to lead us through this important transition.
“He will continue to collaborate with physicians, hospital managers, and a newly-formed Advisory Committee to fulfill our mission and meet the needs of our region.”
“As we forge ahead, the delivery of quality care to our patients will continue to be our guiding principle, and our community and employees can be assured that our growth will continue in this transition,” said Gibson.
Artesia General Hospital is a leading healthcare provider not only in Artesia but the region. AGH has 50 providers on staff and nearly 450 employees. The hospital and its team are committed to providing high-quality care to the patients they serve and expanding its centers of care.
Currently, a building project is underway for a third Professional Office Building to house a Wound Care and Diabetes Center, slated to open by the end of the year.
