The Ocotillo Performing Arts Center is currently accepting registrations for their summer children’s camp production of “SPLASH!”

Don’t miss the boat, as Craig Hawes, writer of “ZOOM!”, invites audiences to take the trip of a lifetime in a new, musical-comedy version of Noah’s Ark, told from the animals’ point of view.

Preston Parrot is on a mission to save his animal friends from the greatest flood in history. But when no one believes his news, he resorts to a little deception and arranges a luxury cruise on board “The Ark!”

Aboard, audiences will find a crew of colorful, comic characters, including ballroom-dancing giraffes, loopy lemmings, a band of brutal pirate rats, and a lovesick French cat. The journey is overflowing with surprises – a rock ‘n’ roll party, a kidnapping, a storm, and a rescue are just some of the twists and turns that make this show an adventure that won’t be forgotten.

The two-week musical theatre camp is designed for children ages 5-16 and will run June 4-15, with performances set for 2 and 6 p.m. June 16. Cost is $65 per child and includes two lunches and two free, optional workshops.

OPAC education director Lauren Austin will serve as director and Olin Davidson of New York City as music director and choreographer.
