Artesians have a pair of reasons to celebrate this week as Sixth Street and the lobby of the Kentucky Fried Chicken-Taco Bell reopened for business. Above, the portion of Sixth Street from Texas Avenue to Main Street is now open to traffic after closing for renovation in early December. The roadway was initially scheduled for mid-January completion but was delayed several times due to the discovery of an old, underground oil tank and gas line installation by the state. KFC-Taco Bell’s exterior and lobby remodel, pictured below, was a quicker project, with the lobby closing in mid-March and reopening this week.
