A road grader smooths gravel along Sixth Street between Texas Avenue and Main Street this morning as crews begin preparations for completion of the renovation project. The City of Artesia Infrastructure Department says paving will be underway Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by striping on Thursday, and cleanup on Friday in preparation for the road’s reopening. The project experienced a number of delays, including the discovery of an old, underground oil tank left over from Dunn’s Garage and gas line installation performed by the state.
