Pat Meeks

A funeral service honoring and remembering the life of William Patrick Meeks was held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel with Gary Volz officiating.

Meeks, 76, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.

He was born July 8, 1941, in Albuquerque to Clayton Taylor and Georgia Mourine (Lewis) Meeks.

In 2007, he moved from Artesia to Tulsa, Okla.

Pat had the gift of music. He played the saxophone and could “make it talk.” If he wasn’t enjoying music, he could often be found outside hunting dove and quail, or fishing for striper. From 1971-78, he coached youth basketball, the Deming Kittens. Their record was 78 wins and 33 losses. He was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include sons Patrick “Keith” Meeks and wife Lisa of Memphis, Tenn., and Preston “Kipp” Meeks and wife Kim of Centennial, Colo.; grandchildren Trey Bailey, Jessica Smith, Tanner, Tucker and Duke; great-grandchildren Tristan, Nickolei and Kaceson; and sister-in-law Teresa Luckett of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Dee Meeks; daughter Pamela Christine Meeks; parents Georgia Mourine (Lewis) and Clayton Taylor Meeks; and siblings George Meeks, James Michel Meeks, and Clayton Taylor Meeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaudt’s Funeral Service and Cremation Care. Condolences may be expressed online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
