A U.S. Postal Service van sits briefly stayed from its appointed rounds in the intersection of Seventh and Main streets Thursday afternoon after a white pickup made a left turn in front of the van, causing a collision. The pickup proceeded to flee the scene of the accident but was followed by a concerned witness, allowing the Artesia Police Department to catch up with it a short time later at 14th Street and Chisum Avenue. The 17-year-old male driver was issued citations for the hit-and-run.
