Fourth-graders from Central, Hermosa, Roselawn, Yeso and Yucca Elementary Schools, along with help from teachers and “littles” from Grand Heights Early Childhood Center, presented “Roots Revival!” as part of the National Dance Institute of New Mexico’s annual visit to Artesia. The group held a two-week residency during which students learned healthy attitudes, self-discipline, and creativity, capped by the opportunity to perform in front of their peers. The show included songs ranging in genre from the blues to soul, jazz to cajun, and pioneer to rock ‘n’ roll.
