Josephine “Jo” Iverson Threewit, 99, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, after a long and full life.
She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Henry and Pearl Iverson. She was one of seven children and grew up on the family farm in Notus, Idaho.
After graduating high school, Jo obtained her cosmetology license in Emmett, Idaho, where she met Donald Threewit. The two were married June 19, 1937.
With the onset of World War II, the young couple relocated to Los Angeles, Calif., where Don worked in the defense industry and Jo was a homemaker, caring for their two daughters, Jo Ann and Vicki. Jo held leadership positions in many volunteer organizations.
In 1972, the Threewits moved to New Mexico as employees of the Good Samaritan Society. They lived in Artesia for many years.
Jo was eventually a resident at Manzano del Sol Village, a Good Samaritan facility in Albuquerque, where she enjoyed excellent and loving care.
Jo loved life and the Lord. “Life is wonderful!”
Survivors include her loving daughters and their families.
Services were held at Manzano del Sol Village.
