Artesia first responders work the scene of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident Monday evening at the intersection of 13th and Main streets. Police were dispatched around 5:54 p.m. to the intersection in reference to two teen boys who had been struck by a car; witnesses say the boys attempted to run across the street against the crossing signal. One of the boys suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries; the other suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his head. Both were transported to Artesia General Hospital by ambulance. The driver of the car, who remained on the scene, suffered no injuries and was not cited in relation to the incident.
