A 39-year-old Roswell woman was found dead early Wednesday on the side of a north Roswell street.

She has been identified as Marlena Guzman.

Roswell Police Department investigators were called to the area of West Linda Vista Boulevard and North Kentucky Avenue after a passer-by discovered the body around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. There was no identification found on the body, but Guzman’s identity was later confirmed by her family. Her family had not seen or heard from her since Dec. 24.

Investigators are treating the death as suspicious. An autopsy will be performed at the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque to determine the cause of death.
