Drivers in Artesia had another reason to celebrate this morning as Texas Avenue from Fourth to Seventh streets opened for the first time since April. The renovation project, which included the installation of medians to match the portion of Texas from First to Fourth, was originally scheduled for a June completion but was delayed multiple times due to weather and unforeseen permitting issues. As Texas was reopening to traffic, the portion of Sixth Street from Texas to Main was closed for renovation and will remain so through mid-January.
