A shots fired incident that occurred Sunday is under investigation by the Artesia Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at 3:13 a.m. Sunday to the 900 block of West Texas Avenue in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, the APD located a vehicle with two shotgun blasts to its side.

Area residents questioned all stated the vehicle did not belong to them, and it was subsequently towed from the scene for evidence processing.
