The New Mexico State Police are continuing to investigate a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a Ruidoso man.

At around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, NMSP officers were called to the scene of a wreck at 1000 Hull Road in Ruidoso.

Officers learned Mark Anthony Ramirez, 23, of Ruidoso and his passenger, Gage Horner, 23, also of Ruidoso, were driving south on Hull Road when Ramirez lost control of the vehicle.

The 2003 Saab collided with a tree prior to going down an embankment.

Ramirez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator. Horner sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by air ambulance to University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, for treatment.
