Players and coaches from the Artesia High School state championship football teams of 1957, 1967, 1987, 1997 and 2007 will be honored at the Bulldogs’ next home football game.

The game between Artesia and Alamogordo is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Bulldog Bowl, and at halftime, the AHS Athletic Department and Artesia Quarterback Club will honor the champs from years ending in seven.

Players and coaches are asked to register before the game, at which time they will be presented with a special coin struck in their honor. The 1957 state champs – Artesia’s first state championship football team – will also serve as honorary captains for the game and will be involved in pre-game activities.

Those associated with the above-mentioned teams are asked to contact athletic director Cooper Henderson – 308-9440 or [email protected] – or Vernon Asbill – 302-8135 or [email protected] – for more information.
