The 2017 Artesia High School Homecoming Court candidates pose for a photo this morning at AHS, decked out in their Hawaiian Day attire. They are, seated from left, senior Queen candidates Ariah Salazar, Stacia Martinez, Camille Douglas and Gracie Puentes, and standing from left, Sophomore Attendant Bailey Pruitt and Junior Attendant Paityn Houghtaling. AHS students will continue their theme days this week with Support Texas Day on Wednesday and Superhero Day on Thursday. Due to some of the candidates’ participation in volleyball, the court will not be officially crowned until 6:40 p.m. Friday, preceding the Homecoming football game between Artesia and Valencia at Bulldog Bowl. The Homecoming Dance, presented by the AHS rodeo team, will follow the game at the Eddy County Fairgrounds.
