Eddy County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) deputies are continuing to seek the public’s assistance in obtaining information relating to a homicide near Carlsbad.

At approximately 8 a.m. Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the Six Mile Dam area southeast of Carlsbad in reference to a male subject who was unconscious and not breathing. Upon arrival, the man was determined to be deceased.

The ECSO Detective Division was called to the scene and located multiple gunshot wounds to various areas of the victim’s body.

The victim has yet to be identified but is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 40 with brown hair and brown eyes. Weight is approximately 160-180 pounds, and height is approximately 5’8″.
