A late-morning collision between a pair of pickup trucks at the intersection of Fifth and Main streets Friday brought traffic briefly to a crawl before portions of the two streets were blocked as Artesia Police Department officers and EMS crews worked the scene. According to Cmdr. Lindell Smith of the APD, a city-owned truck and a private truck were involved in the collision. No visible injuries were noted, but the driver of the private vehicle was transported from the scene with minor complaints. The New Mexico State Police are investigating the accident. No further information was available as of press time.
