The Artesia City Council will reopen discussion of the city’s water rates Tuesday at its regularly-scheduled meeting.

No action is planned on the topic. Bulk rates are slated to be discussed during the infrastructure portion of the meeting.

One public hearing is scheduled, for which the council will convene as the Zoning Board of Appeals to discuss a city code variance at 1601 W. Bullock Ave. caused by the occupation of more than 30 percent of the backyard space with an accessory structure.

City clerk Aubrey Hobson will also request the council set a special meeting for Aug. 15 to address a FAA grant.

The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, in Council Chambers at City Hall.
