Local artist Mark Ashley speaks about the inspiration behind the Founders Bench, unveiled this afternoon in a ceremony at the Artesia Public Library. The bench, created by artist Beverly Paddleford of Eagle Bronze Foundry in Wyoming, was designed to represent the foundations of democracy and is dedicated in the memory of local philanthropist Estelle Yates. Additional information on the bronze and the unveiling ceremony will be published in Sunday’s Daily Press. The bench is now on display in the library foyer.
