TO THE EDITOR:

The proposed County Road closure in Chavez County (Felix Canyon Road) is a slap in the face to sportsmen and women who access this area for hunting deer and Barbary sheep. It is an attempt to deny access to public land that hunters can access via this County Road.

Please contact your County Land Commissioners and voice a concern… We need to stop the closure of county roads that allow access to BLM and State lands which are public lands… otherwise, this public land will be landlocked by the private individual and then access will be denied to the public.

We must unite and protect our access to these areas so that our children and grandchildren can also have a chance to hunt these areas… as we “PASS IT ON.” THEY (Children and Grandchildren) DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THESE PUBLIC LANDS!!
