A homemaker and an office assistant at the Abo Apartments, Susie was a faithful Catholic and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, camping, exercising, and cooking many family favorite dishes.

Survivors include children Sylvia Carrera and husband Lalo of Roswell, Armando Gomez, Basilio Gomez, Maria Mendoza and husband Luis, Cory Mendoza and husband Rick of Artesia, Manuel Gomez and wife Yvonne of Hobbs, Connie Avitia and husband Jorge of Artesia, and Rosie Rader and husband Stephen of Lewisville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Manuel Gomez, on Aug. 23, 2016; daughter Alicia on June 8, 2016; her parents; and 11 siblings.

The Gomez family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to her caregivers, Norma Salcido, Norma Renteria and Carolina Melendez, for all of the help, support and comfort they offered to Susie.
